So I have now been at home with the kids just over three weeks and I absolutely love it! We stay busy that by the end of the day we all just want to crash. The kids and I love going to the park which has a water area, Brock absolutely loves it and Alyvia is iffy. Some days she will play in the water and others she cries and sits in mommies lap. Brock learned how to spell his first name out loud so now he is working on his last name too. It's a blast, I really enjoy just being with them all the time. I think James' is now spoiled because I have been getting new recipes daily so almost every night we have a new meal that is oh so good, and it's amazing now I am able to actually keep up with all the housework and laundry. Geez I think I am actually more spoiled then anyone.
Brock only has three games left of the season and we are getting excited. It's been a long and exhausting and really fun experience playing t-ball. We aren't sure if he wants to continue in this sport or not so we will see when it comes time to sign up for fall. Brock also finally just had his 4 year check up. He should have went four weeks ago but he kept on catching strep throat. He is a very healthy little boy. He is 41 1/2 inches tall and 40lbs. He is in the 50-60% for his height and the 75% for his weight. He also got three shots this time and he is finished with all shots until he turns eleven. I think my jaw dropped when the doctor told me that because then he goes on to say that these shots set him all up for kindergarten next year too. Then to really make me realize that my little boy isn't little anymore we had to take his harness off his car seat, so he is now in a high back booster using the seat belt. The rail on his bed has also come down as he doesn't need it anymore either. It just chokes me up how he is really growing up and it seems like it all just happens at once. He is still a little bit of a clean freak because he likes his room clean and everything has to be in a certain spot. He is getting into the hang of things when it comes to his dishes, he is responsible for rinsing his dishes and putting them into the dishwashers after every meal.
Alyvia also had her 15 month check up. She is 31 1/2 inches and 27.2lbs which puts her in the 50% for height and 75-90% for weight. She got two shots today and only has 1 more shot left on her next appointment then she won't have anymore until she turns 4. She now has a whole list of words she can say her newest one being "puppy". Brock is still her best friend and she has to be around him at all times. She is just like a shadow but luckily they both still get along great. Brock taught Alyvia how to clean up and climb onto the couches and beds. She is definitely hitting her terrible twos already with the getting onto things she isn't supposed to and the tantrums. It amazes me how complete opposite she is then when Brock was at that age.
So the kids are doing great and staying active! James and I are the same. He is still loving his job and bringing home the bacon. lol It's been so wonderful how supportive he is and he always has the best attitude about everything. We are also turning into an old married couple. We usually at least once a week have the neighbors over and play different games. Last night we played domino's and then James and I learned how to play spades and are now addictive. We learned also how to play phase 10 ,which if you don't know what it is go to a target and pick up a set of phase 10 playing cards, the game lasts for hours and is a blast! My mom and chad even walked all over Seattle looking for the cards to play with their friends on their cruise. So we are staying busy and making new friends. We hope everyone is doing great! Miss and love you all!!
Love,
The Morris Family xoxoxox

Brocks Birthday and Tball Game
Ok, so a lot has happened in the last three weeks. Let see, Brock had his first T-ball game. It went great. He was so into the game, well as much as possible for a 4 year old. He hit the ball really hard and then at first ran to third base. It was so funny. He listened to his coach and even got to throw the ball a few times to first. It was much better then soccer ever was.
We were supposed to go to California but that fell through. Brock came down with strep throat and Alyvia had a stomach bug so we ended up staying home all weekend and catering to the ill. LOL We are hoping to go back sometime in June but we'll see how the goes.
Brock had his 4th Birthday Party last weekend 5-2-09. He had such a blast and so many people came to help us celebrate. He was really into the whole blowing out the candles and of course opening his presents. Last year he didn't even want to open presents but this year it was all he could talk about all day. He made out like a King with all his new toys and clothes. Now its time to clean out the old and bring in the new. Fun Fun :) It's so unbelievable to James and I that he is finally 4 years old. 15 months and he will be in Kindergarten. He is so grown up and very independent. We are starting actual chores for him now because he understands what is expected of him.
And last, on Tuesday 5/5/09 which was also my sis in laws birthdays and my 1 year anniversary for work I was laid off of work. I am now playing the mommy at home role for the time being until we decide if I should get a part time job at night or look for a full time day job. We are leaning towards me taking a couple months off work and then looking for a job in the evening 2 or 3 days a week so the kids can stay home. Daycare alone is just so expensive but we are looking into putting Brock into a part time pre-school program so he will be ready for kindergarten. Alyvia's last day of school was yesterday and I know she will be very happy to not have to go back. Brock will finish out the month of May but only on Wednesdays so he can continue his computer class that is paid in full for the rest of the month. I'm actually happy to get to have the time to stay home, I miss my babies so much at work and with this being the last year for Brock before he is in school I really want all the time with him as possible.
We hope everyone is doing wonderful. Lots of Love!!!

Happy Easter / Game Schedule
Hope everyone had a great Easter. I know we really did. The night before the kids got to dye Easter eggs. Well, Brock was able to dye them and Alyvia ended up watching. She just wanted to play with the colorful water. It was so much fun and he really enjoyed it. The next day the kids woke to their Easter baskets that the Easter Bunny left for them. James had to work but he had a nice surprise on his bike, the Easter Bunny brought him a basket too!! He thought he was pretty special. Brock was so excited about the baskets and helped Aly take everything out of hers and show her what they all were. We then got to do an Easter egg hunt with our neighbors. Alyvia found her first egg and it was pink and then she didn't care anymore about the hunt. She had her egg and that was all that mattered. So she hung out in the backyard with Nana while Brock finished his hunting. He found 32 eggs and made out with a lot of candy (which oddly disappeared LOL) and two dollars. I think that was the highlight of his day. He is best friends with the kids next door so all the kids got to look for the eggs in our backyard and front yard, our next door neighbors front and backyard and our neighbor across the streets front and backyard. We had mom and chad and Nana over for Brunch and then we finished the day at James' Nana's house where Brock and Alyvia got to play with their cousins and we took a huge family picture with all of James cousins and great aunt and uncle.
Brock's first game is this weekend so we are getting prepped for that. He is so excited about it so I can't wait to see how he does. Alyvia is learning new things everyday. She loves to make wonderful spit bubbles that Brock taught her and her new word is "Thank You". Its so cute. She popped another molar in last night so we have a total of 10 teeth. Now all we need is for her to grow some hair! Sometimes I feel like she will be bald forever. She is also learning how to brush her teeth on her own because she sees Brock doing it, so her independent streak is getting worse. Whatever Brock can do, she thinks she can do it too.
Here is Brock's t-ball schedule if anyone would like to come and watch.
4/18/09 - 10AM
5/2/09 - 9AM
5/9/09 - 8AM
5/16/09 - 9AM
5/30/09 - 10AM
6/6/09 - 8AM
6/13/09 - 9AM
All games will be at 1010 Sandy Ridge Ave., Henderson, NV 89052

April
So it is official, Alyvia is now walking. She started walking around the end of March. It was so cute to watch she would topple over left and right but get right back up and keep on walking. Now she is a pro. Aly is walking every where and even running around. Brock is also happy because now they can play outside together and chase each other. It is so cute. Aly loves to chase Brock and when she catches him she tackles him and just laughs. They are so adorable together.
Brock started t-ball last week and he loves it. I got really lucky, one of the dads came to practice and asked if he could take over. I was so thrilled!! He is really good with all the kids and the kids really like him. Brock is an excellent batter and a really good thrower. He just needs to work on his catching but that will come in time. He knows where all the bases are and gets the whole idea about running them after he bats. The first day was a little tricky for him but by the second practice he was a pro. He's met some really nice boys and they are all becoming fast friends. He is still doing great in school and is excelling in his computer class. A lot of the kids in his class have birthdays this month so he is realizing his birthday is coming up really fast. He is getting so excited and keeps asking when his party will be. Every time a commercial comes on now he tells us he wants that for his present. And he will tell anyone that will listen that he is going to turn 4 really really soon. I can't believe I am about to have a 4 year old. Next thing I know it will be 5 and off to kindergarten. He is growing up so much and is loving life. He has a ton of friends in the neighborhood so he looks forward to coming home after school and playing with all of them outside.
Alyvia is how can I say this... very much a handful. She loves that she can walk because now she gets to go every where. She absolutely loves being outside and when we go to the park, it's like pulling teeth to get her to leave. Her favorite thing to do at the park is go down the slides. It is so cute. She follows Brock every where and mimics what he does. She has 8 teeth and 1 molar, and there are 2 more molars that are right there and should pop in soon. So she is a teething magnet. She is a really good eater and wants everyone to share whatever they are eating with her. She also knows how to make the biggest messes. It's so funny, she needs a bath after every meal. Not sure how she does it but she does. Aly has also been watching Brock color and draw so now she likes to color when he does. She learns something new just about everyday from Brock. She really looks up to him and as does to her. They are just inseparable.
James finished painting our downstairs and it looks great. Now our next project is to get Alyvia's room done and the stairs and hallway upstairs and the house will be complete. We've had so much fun painting. James and I are great. Nothing new with us. We will be going to California in 2 weeks for my great grandma's birthday and then we will be taking the kids to the beach which will be Aly's first time seeing the beach and Brock's second. I of course will be the one taking videos and pictures and James will get to go in the water with them, I am just terrified of the ocean LOL. So that we are really looking forward to. We are going with Mom and Chad and meeting my papa and grandma there. It will be nice the kids will get to meet some new cousins and great great aunts and uncles. Lots of new family to get to know and James will also get to meet new faces. He hasn't met my mom's dad side of the family so I will be taking lots and lots of pictures. It will also be like a mini family reunion.
For anyone in town, we are going to be planning Brock's birthday party either May 2nd or 3rd. It will be decided once I get his t-ball schedule. If his game is early enough on the 2nd then we will have is party that afternoon and if not it will be the 3rd. I will be sending out invites here next week. Also I will post Brock's t-ball game schedule next week for anyone who wants to come watch. It will be some where in Henderson just not sure where yet. For anyone who came last year to his soccer matches, we think these games will be more entertaining to watch as he is much more involved in this sport and should participate more then he did in soccer.
Also on another note, not many of you know but my stepmom Angela is in the hospital and on life support at the moment. She's been on it for about 2 weeks and will continue to be on it for another few weeks. She contacted double Pnemonia and her body is just not fighting it off like it should, so the doctors are trying to figure out what else may be wrong. She is fighting but we need all the prayers we can get. There is really no change with her condition and it is just a waiting game now. So if you can please say a prayer for her to get better and also for my dad. He has been by her side the entire time and I just can't imagine the emotional stress he is enduring.
Hope everyone is doing great!
Love lots,
The Morris Family

Spring time is here~~~
Wow, so I know I am a little slow at updating everyone about us. Lots of new and exciting things have happened to us in the past few weeks. First off, as everyone knows James and I were in the market for another mode of transportation. Well, after much thought and consideration we bought a new vehicle. Well, not sure if it should actually be called a vehicle but it will get James to and from work. Haha you are all probably thinking I bought him a bike. Geez I'm not that mean LOL We actually invested in a MOTORCYCLE!!! James dad had a motorcycle for sell and so James and I talked about it and it was what he really wanted so we bought it. Brock thinks he has the coolest dad and all the kids in the neighborhood are envious. I even have several of the dads asking me to talk to their wives because they want one too. LOL
Our next news is we finally got our backyard landscaped! We have real grass, a couple trees, bushes and vines. It is so perfect and exciting because this summer the kids can actually go outside to play and even play in the sprinklers. It is so refreshing to just sit out there too. We have never had a real backyard so this makes it all the more special.
We also just finished painting Brock's room, and we will be painting Alyvia's room next. Last night James' mom came over and helped us pick out the color scheme for the downstairs so that will be the next project James' and will be working on after Aly's room. It's fun we actually get to paint our own house and really personalize it.
Our last big news it Brock is officially signed up for T-ball. He is so excited and very anxious to start playing. I think he will enjoy this sport a lot more as each child gets to bat every inning (I think that's what it is called LOL) and they all get to run the bases and every kid gets to play on the field when they aren't batting. It should be a lot of fun to watch. Don't have a schedule yet so I will let all the locals know the times and dates and locations. Oh and I almost forgot the best part of it all..... I'm the head coach!!! I went to the parents meeting and no one on our team had volunteered to coach and when I was at the meeting it was mostly moms. Well needless to say the divisions director told us we had to have a designated coach or else. So i finally spoke up and volunteered myself. I mean how hard can it be with 3 and 4 year olds??? So I have a lot of studying to do as I don't know anything about baseball. But it's just about making sure the kids have fun!!!!
On another note the kids are doing great. Alyvia is still not walking but James has caught her walking on her own so we know she can do it on her own she's just being a little lazy. Its fun though, she just turned 13 months and is finally on a sippy cup completely with milk and eating whatever we eat. It's funny though because she it following Brock's eating habits where she loves chicken. Brock is great and getting very anxious for his birthday that is coming up. I can't believe it he's almost 4. Only a 1 1/2 years left and he starts kindergarten. He's doing really well in computer class and getting ready to move on up into the next class.
Well, we hope everyone is doing wonderful and the link to the newest pictures is posted below!!!!

February 2009
Well, it is official. I now have a little girl who is 1. Kind of sad but now we get to experience more new things!! We celebrated Alyvia's 1st birthday on Saturday the 21st. It was great and we had a nice turn out at our house. There were lots of kids and family and friends. Alyvia is now very spoiled with all her fun gifts and also has a complete new wardrobe... thank you everyone for that!!! LOL Clothes are so expensive!!! Brock was a huge help at the birthday party along with MaKenzie. They opened all Alyvia's presents for her and even held up some to show them off to the crowd. It was a great time and I am so proud of myself for not crying. I bawled my eyes out at Brock's 1st birthday but I held it together for Alyvia.
So the Brock Family came to visit everyone here in Las Vegas for about 10 days. It was so nice to see everyone as it's been over 6 months since we had seen Shelby and the kids and over 10 months since we had seen Arek. Brock and MaKenzie stole the show though when they got to see each other for the first time. It was absolutely adorable. We kept the kids hidden from each other and then let them run, and boy did they run. They ran right for each other and almost past each other and then Kenzie through her arms around Brock and wasn't about to let go. I think Brock was more in shock then anything. But it was great, I think a lot of people got emotional because these two are best friends and haven't seen each other in so long. They have been waiting for this trip forever it seems like.
So anyways, while everyone was here we took the kids up to the mountains and we all went sledding. It was fun but exhausting! There was easily 2feet of fresh powder that we had to walk through to get to the hills to sled on. Brock hasn't seen that much snow in over a year and he was literally rolling around in it. He had a blast, Alyvia actually wasn't to bad in it. She was very curious and then just sat on a sled that was against a tree and rested back to back with Titan and just watched us all play. Shelby and I had a nice experience helping the kids go potty if you know what I mean!!! LOL Fun...We then went to another hill site and took turns sledding down a steep hill that was super scary but fun. It was an all around great day.
On the day of Alyvia's birthday party we did our annual family pictures, which I will post the link at the bottom.
Before the Brock's came into town, my dad also stopped in for 4 days and stayed with us. It was great especially because he hasn't met miss Alyvia yet and hasn't seen Brock since he was like 2. The kids absolutely loved him and were both very attached to him. It was nice except I was very sick almost the entire time but that's OK he had bonding time with the munchkins.
So that about raps up our month for February. Things are back to normal and should be for a while. Brock's birthday is in 8 1/2 weeks and he will be 4 years old. Gosh he is getting old!!! Hope all is well with everyone and we send out love~
Love always,

A year almost has passed!
Wow can you really believe it is actually February? Time flies by so past and it seriously depresses me some days. I look at the kids and I think to myself that it seems like yesterday they were just babies. Brock will be 4 years old in 3 months. My baby is gone and in his place is this intelligent handsome little boy. Now there is Alyvia and in 2 weeks she will be 1 years old. Already getting into the toddler stage. What the heck happened to my sweet little baby girl who depended on me 24/7?
So January was not all that busy for our household. My car was finally paid off and now James and I can start thinking about getting a second vehicle, probably just something to get him to and from work for now, but we'll shall see. We went to a superbowl party while Gina watched the kids and had there own party at our house. LOL Nothing like leaving your house to come back to 8 people at your house. Other then that it was just work, school, and weekends. How fun huh?
Brock and Alyvia are great as usual. Both kids got a nasty cold for a week and now are fighting another one. But other than that they are loving life. Alyvia is so close to walking it's scary. She has stood up by herself for over a minute now and has taken 2 steps before she sat back down. We are trying to incorporate the sippy cup but that is not going over well at the moment. She does eat 3 good meals a day with snacks in between so hopefully we can get the sippy cup down soon and take away her bottle. She loves milk so now she gets 6 ounces of milk a day until she turns 1 then we will see what the doctor says. Brock is Mr. know it all now. He is learning so much at school and loves to tell us about it everyday. We are going to probably sign him up for t-ball this season and also put both kids in swim lessons. So our spring schedule should be pretty hectic. He is still a great helper around the house and is getting better about not back talking and doing things the first time he is told. Where now we have Alyvia who is the most curious child I have ever seen. She gets into everything and loves to make a mess. She torments Brock and now can hold her own when they start to play wrestle.
James and I are wonderful. I came down with a cold last night so I feel not all put together today. Hopefully it will gone soon. We both still have a job so we count our blessings everyday for that. It's been tough not having a second car but it makes us appreciate what do have so much more. We are planning Alyvia's birthday party for the 21st of this month. I can definitely wait for that. LOL But it will be nice because Arek and his family will be in town for the event so it will make the day that much more special.
Hope everyone is doing great and we love and miss you all!!!!
