Pumpkin Patch

It is now November 3th and I am just now updating my blog from Halloween! There just isn't enough hours in the day anymore! This year we took the kids to the "pumpkin patch" strictly for the carnival rides. Since we already went to a real patch for our pumpkins we decided to just stop by for a couple rides since we have to drive by them every day and all we hear is, "I want to go there, I want to go there!"

It was alot of fun and thankfully not as busy. Their prices are outrageous but for $30 and an hour of somewhat peace it was well worth it!

Floyd Lamb park

After our visit to the orchard we decided to head to Floyd Lamb State Park and have a picnic. We found a nice shady spot under some beautiful trees next to the pond. The kids loved being outdoors and running around only they kept running towards the water to look at all the ducks. Once we were finished I walked them over and we each threw some bread towards the ducks. After about five minutes of feeding the ducks the geese took notice and decided to come visit only they don't stay in the water. We weren't exactly willing to get to close so we decided to call it a day but those geese followed us! After we ditched the geese I took a few pictures of the kiddos and then we packed everything up and headed on home!

Gilcrease Orchard

If you haven't been to Gilcrease Orchard here in Vegas its a must, especially around Halloween time. We got to go to a real pumpkin patch and pick our pumpkins off the vine! This was such a great experience for us and the kids had so much fun running around trying to decide which pumpkins they were going to pick. They also grow apples, carrots, green beans, zucchini, watermelon, tomatoes, and egg plant. When we were all finished we headed to the front to pay and for three large pumpkins and a half gallon of frozen apple cider we paid a whopping $9.50! Definitely heading back there next year but for those with kids... bring a wagon!

3 months old

Grant is three months old. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. I'm not sure how much he weighs but I would guess around the 14.6lbs mark. He is smiling like crazy now and loves to talk. Most nights he is sleeping from 8pm to 4am without waking up which I LOVE! Everyday he is doing something new and I'm pretty sure he'll be turning over any now!

Love bugs

Since its so hard to always get online and update my blog thought I would just share some cute pictures I have of my 4 loves!

Baseball days

Baseball has been going great and Brock still loves playing. His team has lost 3 games and won 8. Here are a few pictures of Brock and some of his fans that have been coming to cheer him on!

Flower Girl

Alyvia was asked to be the flower girl in one of my moms friends wedding. Even though James and I aren't close to the bride and groom they did invite us to the wedding so we could see our beautiful daughter all dressed up like a princess walk down the isle. I have to say when the music started and Aly turned the corner I just started crying. She looked absolutely amazing and so grown up. At three years old I was sure she would get half way down the isle and freak out but much to my surprise she walked down with the ring bearer and loved all the attention.

After the ceremony we sat down to a nice dinner and then the dancing begun. Alyvia was a little shy on the dance floor but she soon overcame that and danced with my mom and the bride. That whole night Aly kept telling me she was a princess. Once it was time to go home, Lyv lasted about five minutes before passing out in the car. It was definitely a night she won't soon forget.

I felt very honored that someone we weren't close with wanted my daughter to be a part of her wedding. The bride just fell in love with Aly a year ago and thought she would make the perfect flower girl. So thank you Erin and Tony and congratulations!

California here we come

James and I decided that this year for our 6 year anniversary we were going to get away for the weekend without the kids. We haven't been away from our kids since our honeymoon in May 2006, so this was way over due. My mom took all three kids for the weekend and we headed off to San Diego.

We were only in San Diego for two nights but we had a blast. The first night we arrived we didn't really do anything but head to our hotel. It took us a while to get their because we took our time driving and made a few stops. I couldn't believe how nice of a drive it was with no kids in the back saying "are we there yet?" The next morning we woke up extra early so we could go to our favorite breakfast place and then hit up the outdoor swap meet. This thing is huge and we were able to get a few gifts for the kids. Afterwards we headed to the boardwalk and then drove to the cliff that looks over the city. It was peaceful and just relaxing to walk around and window shop with just us. We almost forgot what life was like without our babies.

We ended the night in old town and ate at another one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. I loved walking around and going into all the shops wishing we were wealthy so I could buy everything LOL. We did though buy taffy to satisfy James sweet cravings.

Sunday was our last day in California and for our anniversary gift to each other we went to our very first NFL game. It was the chargers v. chiefs. James is of course a big Chiefs fan so to be able to watch our team play live was a neat experience. We took the trolley to the stadium, another first for us, and then spent the next 4 hours cheering on our team. We never realized how small those fields actually are .
Our team ended up losing but we still had a great time. So our mini vacation was a success and it made us realize that we need to try to get away for a weekend at least once a year. Who knows maybe we will make it a habit and go out of town for our anniversary every year! Happy 6 yer anniversary James!
